Well...here's the thing... "The Lesbian Lounge" Podcast spawned itself in 2006 when Denise & Donna would bring you the latest on what's happening in their world and then update you with info on the LGBT world: events, films, theatre, comedy, web series, businesses, websites, blogs, drinks, recipes, books, authors, bands, musicians, actors, writers, directors, producers, and apps, along with celebrity guests & hilarious interviews, plus on-air advice to those who write in to them at the show email address TheLesbianLoungePodcast@gmail.com
Now in it's 11th year and still kicking, "The Lesbian Lounge" has racked up over 4 million downloads, even recording BONUS exclusive, extended interviews available on iTunes & Podbean. For example: an hour with Sharon Gless, an hour with Scottish musician Horse- can be found under the old "Lesbian Lounge" feed on iTunes. The current shows are available on Podbean, iTunes and Stitcher under ReallyWowProductions feed. The show is recorded and uploaded as a podcast as opposed to the first 5 years, when the ladies broadcasted live and posted it later as a podcast. The switch is discussed in this in-depth two part interview on "The Lesbian Talk Show":
PART ONE: THE LESBIAN TALK SHOW
PART TWO: THE LESBIAN TALK SHOW
At the 10-year mark in 2016, we can say that it's definitely changed and evolved over time. Denise is now the main host, more information is discussed such as LGBT web series, businesses, news, laws and entertainment gossip, along with interviews and music. You can find shows where Denise has "guest" co-hosts, mainly long time listeners, who have added to the fun over the years. Donna drops in occasionally when her big, busy life allows for it as she now works for LGBT Health CenterLink in South Florida. Denise now resides in London, England with her wife, Jemma and covers the U.K. lesbian scene as well as bringing you the all U.S. action, too. After a successful run doing almost all the cover interviews for "SHE Magazine" over the past 5 years, Denise is writing her first lesbian fiction book. She is also available for interviews, panel discussions, and guest blogging. Use the "Contact Us" box below to get in touch.
Listen to Denise discuss how the show has evolved and where it's headed in this 2017 interview with International Women's Initiative.
Plus, Denise produces "The Lesbian Book Club with Clare Lydon" and "Rag Time" which is on the MyLesbianRadio podcast feed. Clare is a popular U.K. lesbian Fiction author who interviews other les-fic authors, publishers, fan fic writers & more, covering the genre from every angle. Heather and Nicole of "Rag Time" also do their own stand alone podcast called "The Puss Cast".
